【摘要】:1.1Thispracticecoversthesampling,forthedeterminationofchemicalcomposition(Note1),ofnonferrousmetalsandalloysthathavebeenreducedtotheirfinalformbymechanicalworking;thatis,bysuchmeansasrolling,drawing,andextruding.1.1.1RefertoPracticeE255forcopperandcopperalloys.Note1--Theselectionofcorrectportionsofmaterialandthepreparationofarepresentativesamplefromsuchportionsarenecessaryprerequisitestoeveryanalysis,theanalysisbeingofnovalueunlessthesampleactuallyrepresentstheaveragecompositionofthematerialfromwhichitwasselected.1.2Inspecialcases,whenagreeduponbythepurchaserandthemanufacturer,theheatanalysismaybeacceptedasrepresentativeofthecompositionofthefinishedproduct.Insuchcases,theidentityofeachheatofmetalshouldbemaintainedthrougheachstageofthemanufacturingprocesstothefinalform.Thismethodofsamplingisnotintendedtoapplyundertheseconditions.1.3Thevaluesstatedininch-poundunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.1.4Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
